Or porridge to anyone else who is from the UK but the word oatmeal sounds so much better right?
Breakfast is my most favourite meal of the day. I especially love going out for breakfast or brunch as I am a sucker for pancakes but when I am at home I love to make myself a big bowl of warming oatmeal. March is still a bit on the chilly side and I'm not into my overnight oats or fruit just yet so this is where the perfect morning oatmeal comes in. It is a pretty quick and easy recipe to make and most importantly for a girl who gets hangry it keeps me filled up.
Perfect Morning Oatmeal Recipe Ingredients
1/3 cup of porridge oats
2x 1/3 cup of almond milk (basically it's a 2 to 3 rule)
1 tsp of coconut oil
1 tbsp honey (raw organic is the best)
1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
a handful of berries
Put the milk and porridge oats in a pan and bring to a boil. Stir and lower the heat. Continue to stir until it looks about done (ie everything has 'mushed' together). Add the coconut oil and stir until it is melted. Immediately transfer into a bowl, stir in the honey and add the toppings.
