One of my favourite ways to make sure that I start my day with some goodness is to whip up a delicious smoothie for breakfast. Today I am sharing two of my quick and easy breakfast smoothie recipes which can be made in under 10 minutes, because let's face it, everyone is in a rush in the morning! I love green smoothies, I'm odd because I don't like them to be too thick or too milky so I do use water or coconut water for the liquid part but you could substitute almond milk if you like. If I am not in the mood for something green my alternative go to is berries. I am addicted to red berries, especially strawberries, which are in season right now - whoop!
I get asked a lot of what blender I use - for reference I use the Magimix Le Blender and I would highly recommend it if you are looking to invest. On a side note it also makes amazing banana ice cream!
Easy Breakfast Smoothie Recipes - Green Smoothie Ingredients
- 1 mango sliced
- 1 handful of kale
- 1/2 a cup of cold pressed apple juice
- 1 cup of water
- 3-5 ice cubes
Add all the ingredients to the blender, turn onto the smoothie setting (if your blender has one) blend until smooth and icey Bottoms ups and enjoy!
Easy Breakfast Smoothie Recipes - Berry Burst Smoothie Ingredients
- 3/4 a cup of frozen mixed berries
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup of water
- 3-5 ice cubes (I like my smoothies icy!)
Add the berries and banana to the blender, followed by the water and ice. Turn the blender onto the smoothie setting or blend until smooth. Place in a pretty glass or mug and serve!
If I do have a smoothie for breakfast I always find that I need a snack about mid morning but it is best to drink smoothies alone and on an empty stomach so that your body can absorb all of the goodness.
