Do you ever have one of those days where you just need a feel good stretchy yoga practice? Well that's what this 15 minute slow flow yoga for hips video is all about. It is open to all levels and it's just a great way to get into the hips, release tension and feel good. Because that's what we all want right? Let me know what you think in the comments below. We start with a little opening up in down dog and then move into some deeper hip openers - hello double pigeon! This is a yummy hip opening pose but I know it can be a bit much for some people. If that's you. don't worry - you can take sukhasana (easy seated pose) instead. You'll get the same benefits, it just won't be as intense!
Manduka eKO Yoga Mat
I wanted to chat to you about my yoga mat today. I've had it for about a year and a half and it's still going strong. It's thick without being too spongy. It protects your joints but is firm enough that you can balance well, both on your feet and on your hands. There is no wear on the mat - none - which is amazing as usually with all other yoga mats I have had there are a couple of nicks in the material from daily use. It's is super grippy even when you are sweaty - this is a huge thing for me as I am one of those people who sweats, a lot. The mat I use is the Manduka eKO mat, it is an 'eco-friendly yoga mat made from biodegradable, non-Amazon harvested, natural tree rubber provides cushion and support for your practice while protecting the planet' - gotta be good right?
Now on a couple of negatives. First up is the weight, this thing weighs a lot for a 5'2" girl to carry around - at 8lbs it's a bit much for me to carry to classes on a regular basis. I have the Manduka eKO Superlite Travel Mat for any adventures. Secondly is the cost. I think I paid around £60 from Amazon for this mat but I am a huge believer in the whole 'you get what you pay for' thing and it this case I do not regret buying this mat. If you are in the market for a new yoga mat I would highly recommend the Manduka eKO mat.
