This week I filmed a video which is aimed at working your core and building up your core strength for arm balances and inversions. It's a 30 minute power yoga for core strength video and it does hop pretty much right into it so if you need a bit more of a warm up before hand try this video first and then come back here.
Core strength is so important and I always stress in my classes that in order to be able to hold an arm balance or lift your legs up in a headstand the key is having that core strength. I'm not talking about six pack abs here, when I talk about the core I mean the whole of your centre. Through a dynamic vinyasa practice you will slowly but surely build the strength up - just think about every 'vinyasa' that you take, you are moving from high plant into chatarunga and that it itself is helping you to build core strength. As you get stronger in poses such as side plank, forearm plank and your balances you'll find that you have naturally build up the strength to venture into arm balances and inversions. Like everything it takes practice but this sequence should help you in the process!
Please subscribe to my channel if you haven't done so already for weekly yoga and healthy living videos. Once I reach 1000 subscribers I will be releasing a full length yoga class on my channel so tell your friends! Share this video to someone who you think would find it helpful and of course like and comment with any questions or suggestions for my channel. I make these videos for you guys so your feedback is appreciated.
PS: Are you in or around Bristol? I am co-hosting a
