Self care is so important, I have said this before but it really is! However as a yoga instructor one thing I have come across time and time again is that people's priorities when it comes to what they spend their money on really doesn't make sense. Your body and health are so important but often it's something that people take for granted. You know you should eat whole foods, go for a run or to a yoga class but sometimes people are reluctant to spend money on it.
Imagine this: It's Saturday and you are looking forward to meeting up with your friends for dinner so you go out and spend £80 on a new outfit to help you to feel confident. What would actually give you the confidence is not in fact the new clothes but that sense of self and knowing that you rock just as you are. You can get this from working out, running, fitness classes or yoga. From taking care of your mind, body and spirit.
Just think about everything that your body does for you every single day - you dance, you laugh, you run for the bus! It takes you to amazing places and allows you to move and breathe and love.
So why wouldn't you invest in yourself? Gym memberships, booking a block of yoga classes and eating all the right foods all cost money. But think of it this way... you are investing in YOURSELF! That is self care. From this you gain things that money cannot buy - confidence, self worth, more energy, more strength, a better metabolism, better immunity, FRIENDS! You'll begin to glow.
So take a moment and think... does that £8 yoga class seem worth it now?
I love the above quote from Heather Waxman, it's a beautiful representation of self love and self care. See and accept yourself.. Love yourself for who you are inside and outside. And love yourself every step of your journey. There will always be ups and downs, but we must remember it is part of the amazing process. Cherish it all & nourish your mind, body and soul with all things that make your heart soar to beautiful dreams and wild places.
