Firstly I'm going to start off with a confession (just in case you weren't aware)...
Hello my name is Jayne and I am a coffee addict.
I have my routine and I love a good cup of coffee while I am waking up with the morning over breakfast, with friends for a catch up and with a darn good book. However, since I am consumed with my up coming wedding in September I have been thinking about areas where I can improve my health, skin and overall well being. I have this image in my head where I walk down the aisle on the arm of my father and just simply GLOW! Well, that's the aim at least.
So this is where OMGtea (Organic Matcha Green Tea) comes in. I felt like I had become a little too reliant on coffee for an energy boost in the morning and while I don't want to give up coffee all together I did feel like I needed to cut back. Matcha is a finely ground powder made out of a special kind of strong, green tea. It does contain caffeine (less than a cup of freshly brewed coffee) but you won't get the 'coffee high' from a cup of Matcha, nor will you get the headaches often associated with coffee. Matcha has a high concentrate of L-Theanine, a naturally occurring amino acid that stimulates the production of alpha brain waves - this induces relaxation.

My Thoughts on OMGTea
Matcha is one of the healthiest things you can drink! The tea is renowned for its healing properties. It is packed full of antioxidants which help to protect the body from free radical damage, they also play an important role in detoxifying your body and helping to prevent free radicals ageing the body. As a women on the other side of 30 I am very conscious of looking after my body and the skin I am in not only through yoga and exercise but from the inside out. The things we put into our body are so important!
I lead such a busy lifestyle often getting up early to teach a morning yoga class then getting home after 9pm from teaching an evening yoga class. Couple that with looking after the house, organising a wedding and of course spending time with my lovely family and friends - it can leave me feeling a bit drained sometimes. This little drink does wonders for my energy levels and focus. It leaves me feeling calm, clear headed and very 'switched on'. It's a longer lasting energy boost than coffee as well, with no crash afterwards.
Like anything with caffeine in I would only drink it in the morning or early afternoon - unless you want to be up all night that is! I love just how versatile it is too. You can drink it as a latte, in a smoothie, I have even made banana ice cream using it. Making a Matcha latte takes a little bit of time (it doesn't happen at the touch of a button) but it is 100% worth it!
