If you know me well or have been following me for a while you will know that I always have a book on the go. I love reading young adult books (I'll do a round up of a few of my favourites soon!), thrillers, self help type books and any book where I feel I might learn something. Fun fact: Before I took the plunge, quit my job and began the yoga thing full time I was devouring anything written by Gabrielle Bernstein. Her books gave me the inspiration and the push that I needed to do my own thing. Anyway, here are three books that I have either read recently or I am in the middle of reading that I think you need to add to your reading list right now.
3 Books to add to your Reading List right now
1. Namaslay - Candace Moore: You may already know Candace from her amazing yoga lifestyle blog or her kick ass yoga videos but her book is something else. First of all it is BIG! Thick, heavy and beautifully made, it wouldn't look out of place on a coffee table. If you are serious about your yoga, want to learn more or are a yoga instructor I highly recommend picking up her book. It is filled with beautiful yoga lifestyle photos and technical pose photos - it makes a fab reference book for this reason. Throughout the book Candace also interweaves her story of battling a serious illness (lyme disease) and healing her body through yoga, nutrition and determination.
2. Light is the New Black - Rebecca Campbell: I think I am a little late in reading this one as Rebecca now has a second book out called Rise Sister Rise which I am also planning on picking up soon. This book is a quick read and a mixture between personal stories, affirmations and workshop exercises. Rebecca is from an advertising and blogging background and as such the book is integrated with social media, including instructions for creating a personal brand on Pinterest. All in all I think it makes for an interesting read.
3. Eat Dirt - Dr Josh Axe: I bought this book in Waterstones last week after leafing through it and deciding that it sounded really interesting. I heard about the book from Candace on Snapchat (she is @yogaby_candace on there and is well worth a follow) and it sounded like it was a book that I needed to read. I'm always learning when it comes to nutrition so I scoop up any form of education I can! I'm just a girl trying to find her way in a world of fad diets and trends. I recently (probably the last two years or so) developed a diary intolerance, it is usually triggered when I have too much milk or cheese and my stomach totally bloats out, so I am interested in learning about anything which might help. It is well worth picking up if you want to learn more about nutrition and gut health.
