I am sure I am not the only one who really hates core work, I know it is good for me but that doesn't make it any less painful! A strong core is so important for just day to day things as our core is supporting us all the time. It's also a great thing to work on during your yoga practice as you'll find you stronger in arm balances (such as grasshopper pose) and inversions. This funky side plank core yoga sequence is one which I love to add into my practice. Not only is it great for building core strength, it's also a lot of fun!
Yogi tip - keep the hips lifting energetically upwards during your side planks and pushing the mat away with the bottom hand. Don't forget to do both sides! You can add a vinyasa in between the two sides if you like or take a break in downward dog/ child's pose.
