Happy Monday everyone! My weekend was pretty laid back which was nice as this week I am busy with leading yoga classes then we are off to London to spend a couple of days with friends. I managed to get to a yoga class as well which I was super happy about because not only did I get to catch up with some gorgeous girlfriends but I felt like I really benefited from the class. I love learning new things and the instructor was hot on his anatomy so I felt like I picked up a few tips.
We also caught up with a few chores around the house, we had a broken light switch in the bathroom that was really beginning to bug the hell out of the both of us! DIY is not our strong point so it was a mini victory when we changed the switch. I say we, it was mostly Matt ;) The glamorous life of a married couple, eh?
Sunday I started off leading my regular Sunday morning class which was a stretchy morning slow flow. It was a jam packed room being January and the gym which makes me so happy that 30 people want to wake up early on a Sunday to come and practice yoga!
On Friday evening I picked up a new book - The Yoga Mentor by London based vinyasa flow instructor Celest Pereira. I have taken a few classes with Celest and always enjoyed them so I was intrigued to read what she had to say about the yoga business and starting out as a yoga teacher. She included all the tips she has picked up along the way. I found the book super interesting, it's not long, I had finished it by Sunday afternoon, but it's worth picking up. A lot of the information in the book I personally had already picked up on or learned from other sources. I was lucky in that my yoga teacher training did outline many of the points made in the book and it fact it contains a mini interview with my yoga instructor. I do think it's worth picking up if you are new or newer to the yoga teaching world. It can be found on Amazon and is £5.62 for Kindle at the moment.
I love cooking but often find I can't find the time to experiment in the kitchen as much as I would like. So last night I gathered a few ingredients and gave it my best shot, hit or miss right? To be honest the roasted pumpkin tagliatelle was a little bit on the miss side or 'hit or miss' so this one won't be one for the blog!
I often get asked about my playlists after class so I thought that I would share this one for you on the blog. I am on Spotify so if you do want to see what songs I am playing in class then you can find them on there. I do have a habit of being a yoga DJ and often switch between playlists during class depending on the vibe.
I'd love to know what your favourite songs to practice yoga to are. Let me know below!
PS: Come and practice yoga with me! I have 3 spaces left for the Spring Awakening Yoga Retreat in Devon. Lots of yoga, a weekend in the countryside, adventuring or relaxing - come!
Shop Teeki leggings below! The ones I am wearing above are an old design but I love these ones too.
