Oh my it's been a while since I last sat down to write a blog post. To be honest I was starting to feel a little burnt out so whenever I feel like that I always take a step back from the blog and my YouTube channel however I am back with a recap of the Spring Awakening Yoga Retreat in Devon. Can you believe that this was my 5th yoga retreat? I can't it really does seem like yesterday that I took the leap and organised my first one.
We returned once more to the beautiful rolling hills of Devon at East Down. This place really does feel like home now, myself and Tracy let ourselves in and got organised on the arrival. I always try to arrive with lots of time to spare as it allows me to get into the right head space and know where I am with everything before the students arrive.
We held morning and evening yoga classes and a yoga nidra meditation on the Saturday evening. I like to keep some of the time free for people to relax, go out exploring or indluge in an angelic reiki treatment. Tracy (our chef and my good friend) hosted a raw food workshop on the Saturday morning after breakfast. I always find these workshops so interesting as I love to learn!
I was, as always, blown away by the great energy of this group, the positive attitudes, the willingness to try new things, to learn, to play and to have fun! We had some fabulous conversations over the dinner table.
For the yoga I wanted to keep things playful but build upon our practices over the weekend. We had a few breakthroughs and 'oh yes' moments which always makes my heart happy as a yoga instructor. This is why I host these retreats - so everyone can learn and grow, including me.
The food was created by my amazing friend Tracy - you can check out her website here. She served us a perfect mix between raw vegan dishes, salads, sweet treats and delicious, wholesome curries and soups. The jack fruit curry with red rice was my absolute favourite - I had two helpings!
I always leave these weekends feeling exhausted but so happy and inspired. I am so grateful to everyone who came for being open, warm and inspiring! I always feel that we grow during these retreats, friendships are forged, minds are rested and bodies are nourished.
