August in the yoga teachers calendar is often a slow time. Students are away on summer holidays so classes can be quieter. The weather is sunny (well, sometimes, it is England) and so people opt to be outside or head to the pub after work instead of coming to class. And that's okay. So this year I am taking advantage of the slow summer season by taking a summer holiday - two weeks of adventuring around Europe with Matt and my family. It is a big family holiday - myself, Matt, my brother, his wife, their kids and my parents - on a cruise ship around the Mediterranean.
The Big Family Holiday
I am honestly very much looking forward to taking some time out. This year has been stressful, it's had more downs than ups and so we are in serious need of time and space. Time to reconnect, to explore, to see new places, for yoga, to read many books and to just be. This holiday has been planned for a few months and I am looking forward to travelling around Europe. Matt and I have road tripped our way around a lot of the US but we haven't been to many places in Europe. Which seems a little silly really as it is right on our doorstep. Our travels begin in Spain and along our way we will explore, France, Gibraltar, Italy, Montenegro and we end our adventure in Greece - I will be sharing our adventures on Instagram so follow along!
The Next Two Weeks
Over the last few weeks I have been working super hard to bring together some amazing guest posts for while I am away. The guest posts will be published every Monday and Wednesday at 7:30am UK time and I am so looking forward to sharing these posts with you. It's rare that I bring guest posts onto the Jayne Becca Yoga blog so I am excited to hear what you think. I have also filmed a few videos for you in advance for the YouTube channel and they will be published every Friday (beginning tomorrow) at 7:30am UK time, make sure to subscribe to the channel so that you don't miss a video!
I will be back in Bristol at the end of August and I have already put together round two of my Arm Balance Workshop series for the Saturday the 9th of September. We will be exploring the high flyers so if getting out of your comfort zone and gaining confidence to fly upside down sounds like your kind of thing you can sign up here!
My 2017 yoga retreats are sold out and I am looking forward to adventuring in Wales in September. However, my 2018 retreats are open for booking and are already starting to fill. You can join us for a weekend spring awakening yoga retreat in Devon, a week long yoga retreat in Ibiza where we will be exploring the theme of yin and yang and looking forward to next summer you can join us for our annual summer yoga retreat in Devon. Early bird deals are currently active on all these retreats so now is the time to book your space!
Let the Adventures Begin!
Today will mostly be spent packing, wrapping up an upcoming blog post and leading my last two yoga classes for a couple of weeks. I am always so sad to leave my yogis as I really do love what I love but I will be back soon and let's be honest here - I really need the break.
We leave super early on Friday morning, like 4am early, but hopefully there will be coffee at the airport and at least our flight from Bristol to Barcelona will be a fairly short hop. What do you do when you have an early flight? Do you stay up and power through the next day or do you get to bed earlier? I'd love to know as I am unsure what to do. I'm a bit of a night owl so staying up late comes natural to me but I am also worried I will crash halfway through our Barcelona sight seeing adventures on Friday. I will share more of our travel itinerary over on Instagram so if you have any recommendations feel free to DM me over there (or books, I love book recommendations).
Much love for now - Jayne xo
