If you have ever been along to one of my retreats (or classes on a regular basis) you know that I love body scan meditations. I find that simple meditations where you move your attention around the body greatly help to reduce stress and anxiety, allowing you to slow down and hold space for yourself. This is a good meditation to start or end your yoga practice or even to start or end your day. It will leave you feeling calm, level headed and relaxed.
For meditation I like to sit in heros pose on a yoga block as seen in this video but feel free to sit however you like. Sitting on a block or a folded up blanket will allow the knees to be below the hips and so that the hips relax and you are able to sit comfortably.
